This was done with gouache for my illustration class this quarter, its obviously a propaganda poster.
If any of you have read or seen George Orwell's 1984, you will remember the quote "War is Peace, Freedom is Slavery, Ignorance is Strength."
I used this quote during my brainstorming and I kept asking myself "Is War Peace?" over and over in my head and this question would be a good tag line for my project. So then I wanted to incorporate a peace sign, obviously and what is war all about... Guns and Artillery. And this is the final outcome of my project. The original is larger by an inch on either side and has a white boarder that extends beyond that.
Sorry the photo isn't that great but it will have to do until i can scan it in when it is returned to me after grading.
this is so creative @__@ heh. would you mind if i used this for my project? we're reading 1984, & i need to find some pictures that relate to the reading. :3
nice job. i find myself asking the same question. and still don't know how to respond with an answer. i come up with reasons why its not, and then at the same time i find reasons it is
How can freedom be slavery?
How can ignorance be strength?
The world in George Orwell's 1984 is a very twisted one.
